How we verify driving schools
Other directories say "verified" and check nothing. We actually check. Here's the process every Verified and Verified+ school passes before their badge goes live.
Provincial DoT registration
Every driving school in South Africa must be registered with their provincial Department of Transport. We confirm the registration number against the DoT's public records, or contact the DoT directly to verify.
Physical address confirmation
We use Google Street View plus photos uploaded by the school to confirm the physical location. If the school operates out of a unit, residence, or rented yard, we confirm it visually.
Instructor accreditation
Each instructor's PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) and instructor certificate is reviewed before the badge goes live.
Phone call with the owner
A real 5–10 minute call with the owner. We confirm contact details, walk through how leads reach them, and confirm the school is actively trading.
Annual re-verification
Every Verified and Verified+ school is re-verified annually. Badges don't go stale - if we can't re-verify, the badge is removed.
Can't verify?
If a school can't pass every check, we don't activate the verified badge on their listing.
